NSW doesn't require you to keep your cat at home. An enclosure still keeps your cat away from cars and fights, and keeps local wildlife safe from your cat.

We sell the netting and portable enclosures that do the job, and if you'd rather have it built, local installers around Sydney use our netting.

Our warehouse is at Unit 7, 1-13 Childs Road, Chipping Norton. You're welcome to drop in and see the netting and enclosures before you buy, or call us on 02 9772 0889.

Sydney installers

Catnets doesn't install, but we work with these local businesses to make sure our netting goes up correctly and the job is done well. Contact them directly for a measure and quote.

Sydney's cat rules

NSW has no cat curfew or containment law. Under the Companion Animals Act 1998, cats aren't allowed in wildlife protection areas or places where food is prepared or eaten (NSW Office of Local Government).

In the City of Sydney, cats must be registered from 12 weeks old, and an annual permit applies if your cat isn't desexed by four months (City of Sydney).

What customers say

Questions we get from Sydney

Can I use a portable enclosure in a rental?

Yes. Our portable enclosures stand on their own and need no drilling, so nothing is fixed to the property.

How much netting do I need?

Measure the space and put the sizes into the DIY cat run builder, which works out the netting and fixings.

Will a portable enclosure stand up to wind?

A portable enclosure shouldn't blow over. If you live in a windy spot, you can peg the frame to the ground, or weigh it down with sand bags if it sits on a hard surface. Read the help article.
