Cat Enclosures Brisbane

In Brisbane your cat has to stay on your property. Council says an outdoor cat needs an enclosure or fencing it can't get over, under or through.

We sell the netting and portable enclosures that do the job, and if you'd rather have it built, local installers around Brisbane use our netting.

Brisbane's cat rules

Brisbane City Council says cats must not wander outside the property where they're kept. You don't register a cat with council, but microchipping is required by state law, and you'll need a council permit to keep four or more cats.

Full details are on the council's keeping a cat page.

Questions we get from Brisbane

Can I use a portable enclosure in a rental?

Yes. Our portable enclosures stand on their own and need no drilling, so nothing is fixed to the property.

How much netting do I need?

Measure the space and put the sizes into the DIY cat run builder, which works out the netting and fixings.

Will a portable enclosure stand up to wind?

A portable enclosure shouldn't blow over. If you live in a windy spot, you can peg the frame to the ground, or weigh it down with sand bags if it sits on a hard surface. Read the help article.
